After seeing many reviews about this place, It was time I tried it for myself! Located on 96 Liverpool St, Sydney (opposite World Tower). When we arrived which was just before there was not much of a queue so between ordering and waiting took around 7 minutes. Not bad! Its a small shop front where you order your lovely chicken with the various range of spices as below: Little Spicy Medium Spicy Spicy or Extra Spicy I got the Hungry combo and opted for the little spicy because that's all i could handle. Once you pay you get a receipt with your number and a small plastic bag. Once you receive your chicken you will understand why the plastic bag is needed :P The chicken breast is massive! As seen in the picture it was twice the size of my hand. This is so boss! I also got the sweet potato fries which tasted really sweet, almost like they had sprinkled chocolate on it? How, Why? I don't know, this is definitely one to consult the 8 ball! Delicious, easy, quick, (maybe not so healthy) dinner all for the bargain price of $10.90. Worth a visit, if you are in the area. If not you must make it your life's mission to get there! Opening hours can be found here: weebly

First visit and it was a success! Took us a few extra minutes to find it as we went down the wrong end of Dixon St, alas, finally walking through a very crowded food court we were starting to doubt ourselves if the place was even in here! .... and then like magic as we veered down the bend there it was in all its glory! Tucked away in the corner amongst all various Chinese food outlets. Small queue, so we got our order in i had the Garlic Tonkotsu Ramen Noodle with soft boiled egg and my partner got the BBQ Pork Ramen and gyoza to share. Wow such a thick garlicy broth with oodles and oodles of noodles! Delicious! My partner and I both agreed that the flavour of the Garlic Tonkotsu was way better that the BBQ Pork. Gyoza was great too. Such a cheap and cheerful dinner option. I was indeed noodled out! Address & Opening hours can be found in my Eat Sydney Page: weebly- First visit last Saturday and so far I was impressed. We arrived after 9pm and there was no queue of hipster peoples.... so straight down the stairs we dashed as the bouncy was busy talking to a cop i think the convenient store a few doors down may have just been robbed! Yikes Place was half full (everyone else was probably still at the Mardi Gras parade) and the lovely couches were empty so we made a beeline for the bar. Was not in the mood for cocktails so i ordered a glass of Shiraz from a friendly blonde waitress. Thank goodness it was palatable as i would of been disappointed for getting a glass liquid that resembled the taste of vinegar for $10! Atmosphere was good, Ambiance was good. Ever so often they would make a cocktail that had flames so that was always entertaining and i made a promise that i would indeed attempt this flaming cocktail on my next visit. We did not get to try the food but the menu looked tasty! Address details can be found here in my Drink in Sydney page: weebly When you in the town hall area around 6 ish and feel a bit peckish for dinner. Do not hesitate to walk to Chefs Gallery on Bathurst St just down from the KFC. Generally if you have the foresight you can book ahead online but alas you can always leave you name with the hostess on the door and wait probably around 5-10 min sometimes its longer and sometimes your're in luck! As soon as we arrived there were at least 12 people waiting outside so we asked for a table for 2 and the hostess asked if we didnt mind bench seats....um of course not! Zing! Instant table and we faced the kitchen so we could see the guy making fresh noodles! Awesome We ordered the Roti Peking Duck, BBQ Fried Noodles and chilli chicken (which we secretly thing should be called KUNG POW Chicken - Its not hot or spicy its just an awesome name!) Everything as usual was mouth-watering! Teamed up with some iced lemon tea! Delish! Waiters are friendly and efficient, Food is quite fast too! Address details can be found here: weebly Took a friend for the first time to High Tea and she loved it! I figured the best place to start would be to trial The Tea Room at the Queen Victoria Building in the city. We were booked in for 11am for a 1.5 hour seating, although i highly doubt we would use that whole time! I cant remember the names of most of the items but made sure to take a lot of pictures so you can feast your eyes on the deliciousness that is High Tea :) . The wait staff was impeccable and pleasant. We were done and dusted within the hour and desperately needed to walk off the many treats we just consumed. Overall I love High Tea and always have a wonderful time sipping tea and eating the mini treats, I mean if you didn't then this is something that you must get yourself into! With the year coming to an end i think you all deserve to spoil yourself ;). Address and contact details can be found here: weebly I read that this bar only opened up sometime last week and decided that it would be the venue for a mini reunion with some of my old bar colleagues. Monday night 6pm, it is pouring with rain and i'm trying to find this place, upon finding it I realised I walked past twice! Its located at 346-348 Kent St (a little alleyway to the right of the building) where you will find this cosy New Orleans/voodoo inspired bar. It was previously a garage but with the way the owners have revamped this bar, it looks like it has been here for years. The seating is quite spacious stools at the bar complete with lounges, bar stools and chairs, so a variety to pick from. Cocktails range between $16-$19 with a tantalizing selection from the traditional Daiquiri (Hemingway style) to the Showchomp Sour (I think that's what it was called). Throughout the night we kept getting complimentary popcorn, burger rings and what tasted like shapes biscuits! Between the 6 girls it kept disappearing as soon as it landed on the table! The owners/bartenders are very attentive with our drinks and snacks, they were very helpful in relation to their cocktails and would check to see if we liked them :) Great hospitality~ If your looking for a new bar to check out or just need a new change of scenery, give Papa Gede's a go and you will not be disappointed! Until the next adventure, Cheerio :D Address details can be found here also: weebly P.s ~ My pics are not the best but if you can see the skull I deem them sufficient! |
